Deputy Director – TuksSport (University of Pretoria)
Lydia Monyepao is a former Banyana Banyana player who managed the team between 2012 and 2014, and was also the team’s Liaison Officer at the 2010 Women’s AFCON. She has represented South Africa at the 2002 and the 2004 Women’s AFCON and the 2003 All Africa Games. Monyepao represented University Sport South Africa (USSA) women’s national football teams at the 2001 and 2003 FISU World Student Games and various CUCSA Games. At club level, Monyepao played for Wits Ladies FC, Soshanguve All Stars and Soweto Ladies. Currently a Deputy Director at TuksSport (University of Pretoria), Monyepao also serves as a Financial Officer for SAFCA, an associate member of SAFA. A footballer who believes in the combination of sport and education, she holds a BCom (Wits), a BCom Honors in Accounting (UKZN) and a Masters in Sport Management (Loughborough, UK) earned during her playing career. Monyepao is passionate about the mentorship of young women in football and enhancing the leadership of women in sport. She attended the FIFA Women in Football Leadership Programme held in Zurich in November 2019 as recommended by SAFA.
